Geocell Laying
Anchorage Trench Excavation: At the top and bottom of the slope, excavate the anchorage trenches according to the design requirements. The depth and width of the anchorage trenches should meet the anchorage requirements of the geocell. Generally, the depth is 300 - 500mm, and the width is 300 - 400mm.
Geocell Unfolding: Unfold the geocell from the top of the slope along the slope surface from top to bottom. Ensure that the direction of the geocell is perpendicular to the slope surface, and keep the geocell flat and stretched to avoid phenomena such as wrinkles and twists.
Fixing the Geocell: Place one end of the geocell into the anchorage trench and fix it to the bottom and walls of the trench with bolts or nails. The spacing of the bolts or nails should meet the design requirements, generally 500 - 1000mm. Then, at certain intervals, fix the geocell to the slope surface with U - shaped nails or other fixing devices. The fixing points should be evenly distributed to ensure that the geocell is closely attached to the slope surface.
Connecting Geocells: Adjacent geocells should be connected with connection accessories such as connectors and sutures to ensure a firm connection and prevent separation during construction or use.
Filling Material Construction
Material Transportation: Transport the prepared filling materials to the construction site. Transportation tools such as dump trucks can be used to unload the materials at appropriate positions on the top or bottom of the slope.
Filling Operation: Start from the bottom of the slope and fill the geocells with materials from bottom to top. Filling can be carried out manually or mechanically. When filling, pay attention to controlling the thickness and compactness of the filling materials. Generally, the filling thickness of each layer is 150 - 200mm. Use small - scale compaction equipment or manual ramming to make the compactness of the filling materials meet the design requirements.
Surface Leveling: After filling, level the filling materials on the surface of the geocell to keep the slope surface flat for the next construction step.
Vegetation Planting (if required)
Seed Selection: According to local climate, soil and other conditions, select suitable grass seeds, flower seeds or shrub seeds. The seeds should have good adaptability, stress resistance and ornamental value.
Sowing Methods: Sowing can be carried out by broadcasting, hydro - seeding, etc. When broadcasting, evenly spread the seeds on the filling materials on the surface of the geocell, and then cover a thin layer of soil with a thickness of about 5 - 10mm. When hydro - seeding, mix the seeds evenly with nutrient soil, water - retaining agent, adhesive, etc., and spray the mixture onto the surface of the geocell through hydro - seeding equipment.
Maintenance and Management: After sowing, promptly carry out maintenance and management work such as watering, fertilizing and weeding to keep the soil moist and promote seed germination and growth. During the seedling growth period, pay attention to preventing the occurrence of diseases and pests to ensure the survival rate and growth quality of the vegetation.
