Specification for laying geomembran for tailings treatment

Mar 23, 2024

The laying of geomembrane for tailings treatment is a key task requiring precision and meticulousness. To ensure that tailings are treated effectively and efficiently, the following specifications should be followed:

Use high-quality geomembranes that are resistant to puncture, tearing, and chemical degradation. High quality geomembrane is the basic condition to complete the project.

Before laying the geomembrane, the ground should be cleared to remove any vegetation, debris or sharp objects that could damage the lining. The ground should be flat and compacted to provide a smooth foundation for the geomembrane.

When laying geomembrane, it should be ensured that there are no folds, folds and gaps between the geomembrane and the ground. Any creases or folds should be carefully pulled away in the opposite direction of the crease.

Once in place, the geomembrane should be covered with a protective layer of soil to prevent direct exposure to sunlight or sharp objects. The depth of the protective layer should not be less than 1.5m to ensure durability.

In order to ensure the service life of the geomembrane, regular inspections should be carried out to detect any damage or leaks. Any repairs should be made immediately to prevent the tailings from leaking into the environment.
