What Is Needle Punched Non Woven Geotextile
Needle punched non-woven geotextile fabric is a permeable fabric used for rocks, soils and other geotechnical materials. Made of non-woven material.
A permeable material is one that allows gases or liquids to pass through it.
Needle-punched nonwoven geotextile fabrics are typically manufactured using needle-punched or thermal bonding processes. Needle-punched nonwoven geotextiles are made using materials such as polyester, polypropylene, and polyamide.
Jute, coil, sisal, and other natural fibers are also used to make some nonwoven geotextiles. Jute-based geotextiles are completely biodegradable. This is usually used for seed germination and is called a 'jute seed pad'.
However, the majority of needle-punched nonwoven geotextiles are made from polypropylene fibers due to their high strength, low price, and low specific gravity.
When a machine drives a large number of needles directly onto the web, it is known as needle punching. The web becomes flexible and, as a result, pores develop. These pores allow for optimal drainage and filtration while increasing the fabric's breathability.

Filtration

Reinforcement
