Capping geomembrane is a high-density, low-permeability synthetic polymer specially designed for use as an artificial barrier. Its main function is to cover objects or areas that need to be isolated, closed or sealed to prevent the migration of fluids (liquids and gases). Its core role is specifically reflected in: preventing the infiltration of external water (such as rainwater, surface runoff), thereby preventing pollutants from being leached and diffused or increasing the water content and leachate production of closed waste (such as garbage); at the same time, preventing internal harmful gases (such as methane and hydrogen sulfide in landfills), volatile organic compounds, radioactive substances, odors or contaminated liquids (such as leachate) from escaping to the atmosphere or surrounding environment. Through this physical isolation, the capping geomembrane effectively isolates the sealed objects (such as garbage, contaminated soil) from the external environment (including air, water and organisms), significantly reducing environmental risks and the hazards of human contact with organisms.
